Why should I buy an ItchThatBitch back scratcher?

The best reason to buy an ItchThatBitch back scratcher is because they work. The next reason is because once you have one of ours, you will never need another, unless you lose it in a divorce or otherwise. Ours don’t wear out.

Unlike straight, ridged scratchers, ours can be bent to fit the curve of your back. If you sit on it, it won’t break like flimsy wood or telescoping models. This is truly the best back scratcher, handmade in the USA.

How are ItchthatBitch stainless steel back scratchers made?

Each one of our handmade stainless steel back scratchers starts from a coil of stainless steels wire. Next, the wire is cut, twisted, bent, wrapped with various trims, shaped, and buffed. The process takes over 40 steps from initial wire cuts to final buffing.

 Each back scratcher is slightly different and each one comes with its own unique serial-numbered, military-style dog tag. The tags are also made in the USA and in addition to the embossed ITCHTHATBITCH.COM and serial number, have the date and maker's initials lightly engraved on the reverse side of the tag. On request we can also engrave a “To/From” or other short note.

Does the ItchThatBitch back scratcher have a warranty?

Yes. All ItchThatBitch back scratchers have a lifetime warranty. We don’t actually know how long these back scratchers will last. The warranty states, “For the maker’s life or the customer’s, whichever comes first.”

The stainless steel is similar to common kitchen knives and forks. Those seem to last until they get lost. We don’t use wood or plastic that tend to break and wear down, and we don’t use any telescoping handles because we couldn’t find any that really worked. You will probably get bored or no longer be able to scratch before you wear out this back scratcher.

What materials are used for ItchThatBitch back scratchers?

All ItchThatBitch back scratchers are made from an electropolished stainless steel wire that is partially hardened. The Fingers model has copper wire reinforcing the “finger” end of the scratcher. The Knuckles model has a decorative wrap of copper wire on the handle. The Brass Knuckles model is the same as Knuckles, but with a jewelry-grade brass instead of copper. Silver Fingers has silver solder built up on the finger end, and a brass wire wrap on the handle.

Do ItchThatBitch back scratchers telescope (i.e. is the length adjustable)?

No. We thought about it but the telescoping tubes on every telescoping scratcher we tested, were flimsy and easily bent and broken. This was certainly not something that would last a lifetime. In addition, the telescoping tubes are straight, while human backs are curved. The telescoping design in general just isn't durable or optimally functional.

What are the dimensions of ItchThatBitch back scratchers?

Our standard model varies from 19” to 21” long and about 1.5” wide at the “fingers” end. We also make a short or “mini” version that is 12” long for carrying in a jacket or briefcase.

Why did you name your company ItchThatBitch?

Well, our maker/owner Bill thought it was different and would be memorable. The name was available and, while part of the name could be mildly offensive to some, it is certainly way tamer than the lyrics of some pop music.

What is the deal with the ItchThatBitch serial number?

Each and every ItchThatBitch back scratcher is a unique creation. Each is hand made, and while not really a work of art, they are crafty. Someone else could make a knock off, and they might not be the same lifetime quality. By having a serial number along with the maker's initials and date, we can verify authenticity for possible, though highly unlikely, future warranty work. And also, just because no one else was doing it.

Can you make a custom ItchThatBitch back scratcher?

Each ItchThatBitch back scratcher is already a unique creation with its own personal serial number. The maker adds his initials and date to the back side of the serial-numbered tag. If a customer wants a short personal greeting, name, or other message, we’re happy to do that too. (Keep in mind any personal message you request will not be embossed like the serial number side of the tag; it will be light engraving done by hand using an electric engraver.)

Do you make an ItchThatBitch cast scratcher?

No, we don’t, but we are a small shop and are able to create custom items within reason. Please keep in mind that health care professionals discourage the inserting of coat hangers, sticks and other sharp items into casts because of the possibility of breaking tender skin and causing an infection.
